Who Elected Stacy and Clinton?

Courtesy of Spearin, I see that the State of Virginia has, in a move which will no doubt be applauded by 'What Not to Wear' co-hosts Stacy and Clinton, decided to ban "'indecent' low-slung jeans".

Libertarians must be outraged! And surely the American Civil Liberties Union doesn't need petty distractions like this with George Bush and his band of merry liberty-tramplers at large.

Update: As Simon points out in the comments, this bill was stopped by the Virginia Senate. I guess the campaign to get all those rapper/punk kids elected to the Senate paid off...

  • That's funny. Virginians think low-riding jeans are indecent. Canadians think a PM spending taxpayer's money having his name put on golf balls is indecent. Do you think if they hold hearings on this bill someone will bring in a box of their G-strings or boxers and show them off to the committee?

  • The bill has been thwarted by a Virginia Senate committee.

Those poor barber shop patrons are going to have to learn to love the g-string, or at least look away.

  • Thanks for the update Simon. I guess that's why the Senate is known as the chamber for sober second thought.

I find it amusing that in reading the story, the advertising links which show up are all ads for bikini underwear (I guess since the words bikini and underwear both appear in the story).

Maybe someday people will connect the dots and realize that it isn't gay people marrying or low riding pants that is causing loosening moral standards, it's commercial media (primarily television) and the advertising that goes with it.
